Every so often we set ourselves goals to achieve for our own self satisfaction and sense of achievement, within these goals there are certain sacrifices we make and also huge amounts of effort to maintain the standards we set for ourselves also. These things are crucial to us therefore we end up forgetting about our own personal needs, sometimes we do end up neglecting our own happiness because we avoid compromising our original plans. Once you make a plan the mind tends to focus on the one thing that does matter. You.
There is nothing wrong with being selfish with your time and focusing on yourself, at the end of the day there is only one person who is responsible for your future and that person is you. Goals which you have set for yourself aren’t meant to be pleasing for someone else, they should be for yourself and your own self improvement if you keep seeking approval for the things you do you’ll eventually lose yourself. However this doesn’t mean only focus on the things which you have set your goals to, you are allowed to have fun. You are allowed to seek happiness through trying new adventures. It could simply happen through trying new things, new foods, new languages, new jobs I could go on but what I am trying to say is through various changes you learn new things about yourself, which could lead you to a new path of happiness and even enhance your personal goals.
